Rollercoasters, Costumed Characters and Wet Ones, What a Ride!!!#WetOnes
I was recently approached by Mom Central Consulting participate in a campaign for Wet Ones. I received free admission to Six Flags, attended an informational and complimentary luncheon, and received a gift bag and promotional item to thank me for taking the time to participate.
The summers are hot in Atlanta (I would say Hot Lanta but that is sooo played out), and there is always something to do. From neighborhood festivals, to family outings it seems there is always something going on.
Of course Atlanta is also home to one of the best theme parks in the region, Six Flags over Georgia, but for the record, I don’t do rides so in my seven, almost eight years in Georgia, I’ve not been there once. But blogging has changed my life in so many ways, I should have known that the thrill of my summer was coming.
Since I’m not the thrill seeker in the family, I invited by husband along for the ride, and brought the true love of my life Devin. Devin has shown an interest in rides, so I figured that at least my husband and Devin would enjoy it.
I should also mention that while I don’t do rides, Devin doesn’t do mascots, or costumed characters of any sorts, so he wasn’t excited at all to see Tweety, Taz, or Daffy. The day started with Devin ducking and dodging them while I tried to get my photo ops with my favorite Looney Tune characters.
Once all of the Atlanta Social Media moms gathered, we met the president of the Six Flags Over Georgia, Dale Kaetzel who shared some of the history of the park. Did you know? That in just a few years, Six Flags Over Georgia will be celebrating their 50 Anniversary. I didn’t realize they had been in existence so long.
Our planned activities were right up my alley. I was amazed to learn how much there was to do for younger children as well as us scaredy cats. We took a train ride around the park to get a birds eye view and tour of everything. It was slow and steady. Then we headed to the Monsters Mansion, a kiddie water ride that was just my speed. As our small boat glided along the interior of the mansion were encountered a number of friendly and fun looking monsters. Closer to the end, the monsters looked a bit more vicious. It didn’t seem to bother Devin one bit though.
You may be wondering how Wet Ones played into our visit. Wet Ones is one of Six Flags sponsor partners and they are there to remind people about the importance of having clean hands. Do you know how many handrails get touched in a day? Well I don’t know either, but it’s a lot. I certainly don’t want my sweet baby eating or touching his face after touching all of the nasty seatbelts and public nasties at the park. Wet Ones are so convenient when on the go, they are so handy and are just as good as hand sanitizer and eliminate up to 99% of the germs. Plus something about using an actual towel (wipe) has a way of making your feel that much cleaner.
Now, back to our activities. After our rides we were treated to a kid friendly lunch of pizza and chicken fingers. Wet Ones says, “Have a Bite. Grab a Wipe.” and we did just that before we sat down to enjoy our lunch and learned more about Wet Wipes from spokesperson Stacy Debroff who also happens to be the CEO of Mom Central. She has a really interesting story by the way. What a successful woman/mom. After our conversation, I felt inspired and excited about all the different possibilities for my career that would make if very doable for me to be successful and still have ample amounts of quality time with my family.
We continued on with the group to get a post lunch cotton candy and popcorn treat. After wiping our hands down, we were off to explore Six Flags on our own. Sorry to say that we stuck to the kiddie rides. Good for Devin, not so good for my husband who didn’t get a chance to ride any of the roller coasters. I was just happy to enjoy a nice family day, without any sticky situations, and no chilling thrills.
What is the stickiest situation you have been in, where Wet Ones would have been great to have on hand?
