In 2011, Washington D.C. native Arsha Jones co-founded CapCity Apps; along side her husband. CapCity Apps will create apps for iOS and Android, and focuses on niche markets. In Jones research she noticed their weren’t many apps specifically geared towards the African-American community and this was something she wanted to see therefore she set out to create one of her own. Knowing what a booming market natural hair is, as well as being a natural hair wearer herself she thought what better place to start. That’s when she created an app call the big chop.
s The big chop app allows you to give yourself an instant natural hair makeover. Like so many women I often face hair frustrations. In fact when I first went natural I was so scared about how I was going to look that it took me well over a year to make a change. I kept making appointments then chickening out and canceling them,
This app will help woman combat that fear and move forward with more confidence when making a big hair change. The app will give women the opportunity to upload a picture of themselves then choose from over 250 natural hairstyles to see how it will look on them. Styles will include things like the TWA (Tweeny Weeny Afros), long styles, locs even different accessories. Also once complete women will be able to upload their new hair style pics to Facebook or Twitter. This is great because then they can get the opinion of all their friends.
The Big Chop app is set to launch late November, 2012 and I am personally excited.
I will definitely be downloading this app…..will you?
