In honor of Election Day,  the High Museum of Art has a special offer.  After you cast your vote on Tuesday, November 6, 2012 visit the museum and pay as you wish.  Yep, that’s right you name the price.  With schools being closed on this day, it is the perfect opportunity to introduce your children to arts and culture.

Tickets to the High include admission to all special exhibitions and the permanent collection.

The High has several family programs including: the Greene Family Learning Gallery which is a hands-on discovery area.  The area  is comprised of five different areas that are inspired by some of the most popular objects in the museum’s collection.  This area is very important since we all know children like to see with their hands, and is perfect for children who are pre-school age to 10 years old.

Another way to make things fun for your children is to borrow one of the museum’s colorful discovery backpacks and take them on a gallery adventure.  The backpacks keep your children engaged with puzzles, games and art projects.

I love the High Museum and need to renew my membership. What an awesome way for the Museum to give back to the community and make a local cultural excursion accessible to all! I've never even heard of the discovery backpacks. Thanks for sharing that information!
